DEA CME Requirements & ResourcesOn December 29, 2022, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 enacted a new one-time, eight-hour training requirement for all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance-use disorders. This reference page is a resource for members to assist them in meeting these requirements. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), recommends that content should be related to the prevention, recognition, and care of people with substance-use disorders including those with concurrent pain and/or psychiatric and medical comorbidities. While we cannot definitively interpret the rule language to determine which specific programs meet this requirement, we are providing a list of our recent CME activities and additional resources to assist you in meeting this requirement.
