AOA Calls on Osteopathic Physicians to Support Medicare Payment Reform; MOMS Signs on Support

The AOA is continuing its advocacy on Capitol Hill for meaningful, long-term Medicare physician payment reform and is calling on osteopathic physicians across the country to help strengthen that effort.

As part of this work, AOA President Richard Thacker, DO, recently issued a nationwide call to action urging members of the profession to contact Congress in support of the Patients First Act (H.R. 8163 / S. 5180), a key AOA federal advocacy priority.

MOMS has signed on to a letter of support for the Patients First Act.

Establish permanent inflation-based payment updates

Reform outdated payment policies

Strengthen support for physician practices, helping protect patient access to high-quality, physician-led care

Medicare physician payment has declined by 33% after adjusting for inflation since 2001, while the costs of running a medical practice continue to rise.
